ABOUT SHINE A LIGHT

After suffering a near death experience in the heart of Death Valley breaking his neck, back and foot while on an exchange programme in California, our very own Padraic Rocliffe, founder of Shine a Light, has decided to use his experiences to aid those who need it most.

“It was Christmas Day and I was still in rehabilitation in the states. While in a diner I came across two homeless people outside begging for money. I encouraged them to sit with me and have a meal. It turned out to be a mother and her son who had been evicted from their home and fallen victim of society over there. It was a story that really touched my heart, giving me the inspiration to set up Shine a Light in aid of the homeless here in Ireland. Here, we are dedicated to Shining a Light on many key social issues  in this country and indeed in these peoples lives as often and however we possibly can”.
